ID Of Pedestrian Fatally Struck On I-91 In Windsor Released By State Police

The pedestrian had been involved in an earlier crash, state police said.

WINDSOR, CT — Santiago Jimenez, 30, of Meriden, was fatally struck a by a vehicle on I-91 in Windsor, state police said.

A 2012 Chevrolet Impala was traveling on I-91 North at around 7 p.m. Saturday, south of Exit 40, in the left lane of four in Windsor.

Jimenez was standing in the left shoulder after being involved in a prior traffic crash, state police said.

Jimenez "entered the travel lane for an unknown reason" and was struck by the car, state police said.

The Impala came to a controlled final rest in the left shoulder. Jimenez came to final rest in the left shoulder.

Jimenez was taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries and was pronounced deceased, state police said.
