Rollover Tractor Trailer Crash Closes Portion Of Highways In Windsor

WINDSOR, CT — A tractor trailer rolled over on Interstate 291 at the Interstate 91 southbound exit ramp around noon Monday, prompting closure of the highway for several hours.

An investigation determined the trailer weight had shifted in transit, causing the vehicle to roll onto its right side, coming to rest on a guardrail, state police said.

Both the truck operator and a passenger were taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries. The driver, a 51-year-old man from Florida, was cited for operating with an unsecure load, police said.

The ramp to I-91 southbound was closed for several hours, according to police.
