Sill House Rent Agreement Comes Before Finance Committee

The Committee will discuss a recommendation to extend an agreement to accept maintenance and improvements in lieu of monthly payments.

The Finance Committee will meet tonight to discuss the town’s agreement with the Recovery Club regarding the Sill House.

Per their agreement, the Recovery Club, which currently holds a 10-year lease on the Palisado Avenue property, is allowed to “perform maintenance and improvements on a regular basis in lieu of a monthly rent payment.”

According to town documents, on an annual basis, maintenance and improvements made on behalf of the Recovery Club “must equal or exceed $21,600.”

According to town documents, the Recovery Club has explored several avenues that could potentially provide the necessary funding to begin monthly payments; however, “a number of the potential funding groups require the recipient organization to either own the facility or have a long-term lease.”

The finance committee will discuss a recommendation that the town council authorize Town Manager Peter Souza to execute the amendment.
