We’re No. 1 … in Gas Prices!

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the Nutmeg State is more than in any other state in the Continental U.S.

After a long stay near the top of the leaderboard, Connecticut is finally No. 1 in the contiguous 48 states … in the price of gas.

According to the latest numbers from AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Connecticut hit $4.036 today, tops in the Continental U.S. and second only to Hawaii, where it’s $4.068 a gallon.

Connecticut outpaced some true legends of gas-price gaudiness, including New York (second in the Lower 48 at $3.944), Alaska (a mere $4.020!), California ($3.813) and Washington D.C. ($3.895).
