Ansonia Man Sent Inappropriate Messages To Teen: Police

An Ansonia man is facing charges that he sent inappropriate texts to a 13-year-old boy, according to state police.

ANSONIA, CT — An Ansonia man was charged on allegations he sent inappropriate messages to a teen, according to state police.

Michael Bernaud, 27, turned himself in to state police after learning of a warrant out for his arrest. He was charged with risk of injury to a child.

Police began the investigation March 9 into a conversation between a 13-year-old boy and Bernaud, according to the arrest warrant.

Bernaud and the victim met at an event in Orange in April 2022. In December 2023, the victim joined a social media group dedicated to the restaurant, through which he connected with Bernaud.

Bernaud later demanded the victim send him inappropriate photos, according to the arrest warrant.

Bernaud was later released on $50,000 cash/surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on May 1.
