April Vacation Outdoor Adventure Weeks for Area Kids

What to do for April Vacation with the kids...Flanders Nature Center has the answer

Spring is in the air and Flanders is offering programs for Region 15 school kids, (April 11-15) and Region 14, Region 6 and Watertown school kids (April 18-22) during their Spring break weeks. Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade can enjoy a week filled with fun and discovery at Flanders. Each day will bring a different learning adventure but every day will be packed with fun and include age appropriate hikes, games, art projects, crafts and stories while enjoying the great outdoors!

Kids will get a chance to hike the trails, observe wildlife, explore pond life and discover baby animals at the farm. Choose a single day or sign up for the whole week of outdoor adventures.

Exploration will be the theme for Monday and Tuesday when there will be hikes to the pond, marsh and brook to discover and “catch and release” the wonderful creatures they will find there while discovering amazing facts about them.

On Wednesday and Thursday the focus is all about animals. On Wednesday kids will get the chance to meet the newest Flanders spring arrivals of chicks, lambs, kids and bunnies and then hike the trails to discover newborns in nature.

On Thursday kids can try their hand at being a farmer for the day at Flanders North Barn. They will help with “farm chores” like feeding the sheep, goats, horse and pigs and collecting eggs from the chickens and then take a fun hayride.
