Police Investigate Woodbury Car Break-Ins, Theft

A car was stolen in Woodbury on Sunday. Police are investigating two more attempted vehicle thefts.

WOODBURY, CT — Police are investigating a vehicle theft in Woodbury. State troopers and Woodbury police responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from an apartment complex on Tuttle Road at 10 p.m. Sunday.

The vehicle, a 2017 silver Hyundai Elantra with New Hampshire license plate number 4212433, was taken between 9 and 10 p.m.

The Hyundai had been locked and the owner had the keys. Police believe that the thief smashed the passenger side rear window and that the car's ignition was “hot-wired."

Police found two more Hyundai Elantra sedans in the same area were entered in a similar manner in apparent attempts to take the vehicles. All three vehicles were sedans between the model years 2014 to 2018.
