Virginia Man Killed In Semi, Car Accident On DE Highway
A tractor-trailer traveling westbound on Seashore Highway struck a Nissan Altima, killing its driver, according to state police.

BRIDGEVILLE, DE — A Virginia man was killed in a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer on Delaware's Seashore Highway this week, state police said Friday.
John Joyce, 80, of Alexandria, Virginia, died Wednesday in the accident near Bridgeville, police said.
Just before 2 p.m., a tractor-trailer traveling westbound on Seashore Highway was approaching Scotts Store Road when the driver of a Nissan Altima failed to remain stopped as the tractor-trailer neared the intersection, police said.

According to an accident report, the driver of the Altima pulled into tractor-trailer path's while turning left onto Seashore Highway. While the driver of the tractor-trailer attempted to brake and avoid striking the Altima, the tractor-trailer ultimately struck the Altima's driver's side.
The driver and sole occupant of the tractor-trailer, a 64-year-old Milford man, was not injured, police said.

Joyce, who was driving the Altima, was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He died Thursday, police said. A 77-year-old woman riding in the Altima was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
