FL Man Sues Outback Over Shattered Toilet Seat: Reports
A FL man is suing Outback claiming he suffered "severe bodily injury" when a toilet seat shattered underneath him at its Ocala restaurant.
OCALA, FL — A Florida man is suing Outback Steakhouse after claiming the toilet seat he was using in a handicapped stall at the chain’s restaurant on Southwest College Road in Ocala “suddenly shattered and collapsed,” according to multiple reports.
Michael Green filed the lawsuit against Outback Steakhouse of Florida, LLC over the March 26 incident with the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court for Marion County on Dec. 9, Ocala News reported.
In his lawsuit, Green said that he suffered “severe bodily injury” in the incident, including “significant and permanent loss of an important bodily function” and “loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life,” Fox Business reported.

He accuses the restaurant of negligence by failing to ensure the toilet was “properly secured to the floor,” the lawsuit said, according to the New York Daily News. Green also alleges that the eatery created “an unreasonably dangerous condition to members of the public.”
Represented by an Orlando personal injury firm, Dan Newlin & Partners, Green is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, reports said.
