Good Samaritan Dies Rescuing 12 People From Capsized Boat In Florida
A Florida man drowned while rescuing nine children and three women from a capsized boat over the weekend, multiple news outlets report.
RIVIERA BEACH, FL — Officials told multiple news outlets that a good Samaritan died while trying rescue a dozen people from a capsized boat over the weekend.
First responders with Riviera Beach Fire Rescue told The Palm Beach Post that the boat capsized Saturday south of the Lake Worth jetty.
"It was a bunch of chaos and everybody was trying to assist everybody out of the water because we were floating closest to the rocks, trying to get everybody out so nobody else gets hurt,” John Snow, a captain with Sea Tow Palm Beach who assisted with the rescue, told WPBF-TV.

Snow told the station that the rescue operation lasted for about half an hour.
Three adults and nine children were rescued and taken to Sailfish Marina for evaluation. They are all said to be in good health.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, U.S. Coast Guard and Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
The boat reportedly began taking on water from six-foot waves, but officials have not provided an explanation for the incident.
The identity of the good Samaritan has not been released.
