• DeSoto County commissioners approve compost facility after threat of legal action (fox4now.com) — DeSoto County commissioners meeting in Arcadia have approved a controversial biosolids compost facility along State Road 70 after months of public opposition and the threat of a lawsuit. The agreement adds limits on truck traffic, odor-control assurances, and stricter flood and inspection requirements. Supporters cite jobs and oversight, while many nearby residents worry about smells, traffic, and the county’s image.
