Rayuela by Marco Flores at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center
May 2nd & May 3rd at 8:00 p.m., 2025

FUNDarte and Miami-Dade County Auditorium in collaboration Aventura Arts and Cultural Center present Rayuela by Marco Flores on May 2nd & 3rd at 8:00 p.m. at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center as part of Out (Loud) in the Tropics Series.
Rayuela, meaning ‘hopscotch’ in Spanish is the newest creation of versatile artist, Marco Flores. Flores celebrates the first 20 years of his career in this piece that is a metaphor for his life where he is accompanied by renowned musicians, singer Alfredo Tejada and guitarist José Tomás Jiménez.
“In the beginning, it was the heartbeat: the primitive pulse of a life that became rhythm, compass: Marco. Then, wings were born on his feet, a thousand flowers in his soul. Misfortunes and laughter shaped his water skin and opened furrows to emotion and shouting, to mourning and celebration: because flamenco was that limitless place where his impulse - creative, vital - acquired its full meaning.

Now, it is time to recount what has been lived; to return to the origins, twenty years ago: not to start again; but, as an attentive and sincere traveler with the journey of what has been walked, to meet again with the essential truths of flamenco and relive them full of meaning: far from the museum, in the emotion of its kaleidoscopic pulse, of its elusive dance, of the clean heart of an artist of the twenty-first century: Marco Flores.”
