Woman Found Naked, Dead Inside FL Dollar Tree Freezer: Reports

MIAMI, FL — A woman was mysteriously found dead and naked inside the walk-in freezer of a Miami Dollar Tree on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez, 32, was found in the freezer by an employee at the Little Havana neighborhood store around 8 a.m. as it opened, Fox News reported.

"Complainant found a naked female in the cooler of the store," dispatchers were heard saying over police scanners, CBS News said.

Miami police told NBC 6 South Florida that Sanchez went into the store before it closed Saturday night and didn’t buy anything. Then, she went into the freezer in the back storage room and spent the night inside.

No foul play is expected, police told WFTV 9.

Sanchez, a doctor from Nicaragua, was an anesthesiologist specializing in congenital heart disease, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser for her family. She was also a mother of two, “who were the center of her world,” the page said.

“Dr. Helen Garay passed away following a tragic accident while abroad. Her family’s greatest wish is to bring her home to Nicaragua so she may receive a proper funeral and final resting place surrounded by loved ones,” according to the page.

As of Tuesday afternoon, $13,000 of a $20,000 goal had been donated to her family. The money raised will be used for repatriation and transportation costs, as well as funeral services in Nicaragua.

“Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered,” the page said.
