• Beach town leaders fight ‘catastrophic' tax plan (tbnweekly.com) — Belleair Bluffs leaders are loudly warning residents that a proposed 2026 statewide elimination of property taxes could gut city services and make small towns dependent on Tallahassee. At a recent Barrier Island Governmental Council meeting, the mayor, a commissioner, and the city administrator rallied neighboring beach communities to join them in pressing state leaders for answers on how essential services would be funded.
