Brewer Taps Into Riverview Craft Beer Lovers' Market

RIVERVIEW, FL – After premiering in March, Leaven Brewing Co., 11238 Boyette Road, Riverview, is making its mark in Riverview as the community’s first brewery.

Husband and wife team KJ and Jillian Lynch decided to open the brewery after KJ spent years perfecting the brewing process at Fort Myers Brewing Co., where he served as head brewer, and as senior brewer at Brew Hub in Lakeland, where he produced 98,000 barrels of beer a year.

In addition to experience, KJ Lynch brings his own beer recipes to the table at Leaven Brewing Co, which offers more than 10 craft beers on tap in its tasting room plus seasonal specialties.

Top sellers include Is Good Kolsh, which combines light malt sweetness with traditional German hops; Cheeky Blonde, a blonde ale with a balance of floral hops; The Red, a robust blend of pilsner, caramel and roast malts; G’Boy Bailey, with Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic hops; and Quaker Goats, an oatmeal stout.

In addition to offering craft brews on tap, Leaven Brewing Co. will feature live music.

On Friday, June 8 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., the brewery will host Jason Allen James, front man of Dirt Road Rodeo.

Located in the Shoppes of Boyette, Leaven Brewing is open Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
