One person was injured when a fire at Mosaic's phosphate plant in Riverview rekindled Tuesday, reports said.

RIVERVIEW, FL — After being contained Monday night, a brush fire at the Mosaic plant in Riverview rekindled Tuesday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

About 200 acres at the phosphate mining facility’s property burned before firefighters got it under control Monday, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Then, Tuesday, a polyethylene pipe caught fire, which firefighters contained using foam, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue told WFLA. The flames spread to a second pipe as the first was extinguished.

“Smoke at Riverview is from foam retardants by (HCFR), cooling pipes from last night’s fire,” Mosaic posted to X, formerly Twitter, Tuesday around 4 p.m. “Responders are handling dryness, heat and wind. Thanks to them and (Florida) Forestry (Service). We’re monitoring closely and will share updates.”

A HCFR firefighter was reportedly injured at the scene and brought to a hospital, according to the Times.
