The Alafia River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meet the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Hawthorne Village, 861 W. Lumsden Rd., Brandon. Membership is open to women 18 and older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. The organization is dedicated to patriotism, education and historic preservation.
