6 Dogs Rescued From Bloomingdale Fire

Breaking: The cause of the house fire in Bloomingdale is under investigation.

VALRICO, FL — Six dogs were rescued from a Bloomingdale home that caught on fire Wednesday morning.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the blaze broke out at a home in the 3900 block of Bloomingdale Avenue. When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the home. A "quick interior attack" was made to bring the blaze under control.

During a search of the home, Chief Bach happened to find six dogs, an email from the agency said. All six were safely returned to the resident, who was not home when the fire broke out.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which closed a section of Bloomingdale Avenue for a time Wednesday morning.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
