Fire At Guinta Middle School Under Investigation

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is investigating a small fire that broke out at Guinta Middle School Tuesday.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A small fire that broke out in a bathroom at Guinta Middle School in Riverview on Tuesday is under investigation by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

According to the agency, firefighters were called to the 4202 S. Falkenburg Road school around noon on Aug. 22. When they arrived, the found light smoking coming from the school, which had already been evacuated.

When firefighters made their way to the bathroom that was deemed the source of the smoke, they found the fire already out. Efforts began to ventilate the school at that time.

“There are no injuries to any students or firefighters,” an email from the agency said. “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

No further information is being released at this time.
