Bright Beginnings has partnered with Friends of FishHawk to provide the tutoring bootcamp designed to prepare students to take the test and, in the process, relieve their anxiety.

For the past 11 years, Bright Beginnings has offered tutoring, FCAT preparation courses and summer learning camps throughout Hillsborough County free of charge to all  students through the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers.

The tutoring sessions will be held four times a year, at the end of each nine weeks (prior to exams and FCAT).

The service is open to any student in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Additionally, while the students are being tutored, Bright Beginnings will host optional classes for the parents on an array of topics, such as how to help your child with test anxiety, parenting, budgeting and navigating the school system.

To reserve a space for the tutoring bootcamp, contact Brooke Wheeldon-Reece at the Bright Beginnings office at 813-281-5535, ext.105. Space is limited.

Wheeldon-Reece is also seeking volunteer tutors to support this event.
