A 3-year-old girl died following a pedestrian crash in Riverview on Tuesday morning.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A 3-year-old girl struck by a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck early Tuesday morning has died from her injuries. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office announced Brianna Savage's death Tuesday evening.

According to the agency, Christian Madson, 33, was driving southbound on Legacy Bright Street around 7:27 a.m. Aug. 22 when the little girl "darted from the sidewalk at the intersection of Hampton Meadow Way." The child ran directly into Madson's path, an email from the sheriff's office said.

Deputies say Brianna, her mother, and a family friend were out walking dogs along when the child "darted towards her house." Madson, the email said, looked right and saw the women walking the dogs, but did not see the child.
