TAMPA, FL — This week Tampa General Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute opened its new satellite clinic. The TGH Heart & Vascular Institute Sun City Center clinic is located at 959 E Del Webb Blvd, Sun City Center. It is a joint effort between the TGH Heart Failure Center of Excellence and USF Health Cardiology and is the first cross-organization clinic to provide cardiac imaging and diagnostic testing.
“Our goal with this clinic is to establish a robust center for cardiology care for the south Hillsborough community,” said Dr. Benjamin D. Mackie, co-interim medical director of the USF|TGH Heart & Vascular Institute, medical director of the HVI Heart Failure Center of Excellence, and medical director of Heart Transplantation.
“We are seeing a steady increase in the number of patients needing cardiac care in the hospital and by bringing leading-edge care and advanced diagnostic testing to the Sun City Center area, we hope to improve the heart health of the community,” Mackie said.
