Injured Mountain Biker Lifted Out Of Alafia State Park By Helicopter
A mountain biker who injured his leg while biking in Alafia River State Park had to be airlifted by helicopter due to the remote location.
SOUTH HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY — A mountain biker who injured his leg while biking in Alafia River State Park had to be airlifted by helicopter due to the remote location where the accident occurred.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to rescue the injured mountain biker after receiving a call for help Saturday at 2:13 p.m.
One of the fire rescue's SWAT medics who regularly trains with the sheriff's office accompanied the biker as he was lifted into the helicopter.

The man was then flown to a nearby landing zone and transferred to an air medical transport, which flew him to a trauma center in stable condition.
