Man Killed When Truck Plows Into Him On U.S. 301: Troopers
The Florida Highway Patrol investigated an overnight 2-car crash in Thonotosassa that involved one driver running a stop sign.
THONOTOSASSA, FL — A Tampa man was killed just after midnight Monday when he drove in front of a truck that plowed into his car after he ran a stop sign on U.S. Highway 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The 24-year-old driver headed northbound on Jackson Road in his 2010 Honda Fit at about 12:06 a.m., investigators said. Simultaneously, a 2020 Ford F-250 driven by a 31-year-old man of Thonotosassa traveled on U.S. 301 at the cross-street of Jackson Road when the Honda driver didn't stop, and crashed into the driver side. The Tampa man was pronounced dead at the location of the crash, according to troopers.
No injuries were experienced by the driver of the truck.
