Dashcam Identifies Suspect's Car In Fatal Hit-And-Run

HILLSBOROUGH, FL —A driver's dashcam took an image of the suspect's vehicle who ran over a man who after he had been thrown from his truck on State Road-674, detectives said.

A 54-year-old Wimauma man was killed Thursday night when he was ejected from his truck and run over by an unknown vehicle on State Road-674, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The victim drove his Chevrolet S-10 truck eastbound on SR-674 at about 8:09 p.m., investigators said. As he drove along a curve just east of Balm Wimauma Road, his truck spun and then he was thrown from the truck onto the roadway, according to detectives. The truck stopped when it crashed into a barbed wire fence in a nearby cow pasture.

Authorities said a short time afterward, the driver was hit by an unidentified vehicle that drove eastbound on SR-674. The driver did not stop. The victim died of his injuries at a local hospital, troopers said.
