New Executive Director Leads Valrico Campo Family Y Into New Year

VALRICO, FL — The Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, welcomed Mario Gallegos to its leadership team as the new executive director.

Gallegos will provide management and oversight to the Campo Y’s operations and programs, advisory board, annual campaign and community relationships.

Gallegos has been in the Y movement for more than six years in San Antonio, Texas. He served in nearly every leadership family center role during his tenure, leading a 60,000-square-foot facility and a $3.2 million budget.

His portfolio includes experience in leading youth and family membership, youth sports, senior program director and associate executive director before landing at the top as a senior branch director of the Schertz family YMCA.

In addition to Gallegos' experience in the Y movement with impressive results in annual giving, staff development, community partnership and board development — all essential elements required for Campo Family YMCA to thrive, Gallegos has also served professionally in roles in faith communities and as a collegiate coach and adjunct instructor. Gallegos holds a bachelor of arts degree in health and wellness from Louisiana Christian University.
