HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received new brush fire trucks that will likely increase firefighter safety during wildfires, a Hillsborough County government news release said.

The new brush trucks are built on a four-door, Ford F-550 Chassis. An added safety feature is dual whip lines can be operated by firefighters inside the back seat of each truck to extinguish brush fires while the vehicle is in motion.

While battling a wildfire, it is dangerous for firefighters to walk in the sand, and there are chances they could step in holes or trip on scrub root, a news release said.
