The 2013 Florida Strawbrerry Festival kicks off today, Friday, March 1, with Gene Watson set to perform at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Casting Crowns at 7:30 p.m.

2013 Florida Strawberry Festival: Need To Know Friday, March 1

Today is Sweetbay Supermarket Day on the Midway at the 2013 Florida Strawberry Festival, from noon to 10 p.m.

• Donate any "My Essentials" non-perishable food item at the entry gate and receive $4 off the $20 price for a Fun Pack Ride Coupon Book.

Tonight is Moonlight Magic at the festival.

• Ride most mechanical rides for $20 per person.
• All patrons entering the festival for Moonlight Magic will be required to purchase a $20 wristband, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
• All patrons entering the festival are subject to be search.

Also at the festival today:

• Gates open and close at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

• The midway opens at noon.

• Admission is $10 for people age 13 and up and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children age 5 and under are admitted for free when accompanied by a paying adult.

• The Fried Corn-on-the-Cob Eating Contest kicks off at 1 p.m., at the Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Tent.

• Dairy Contest Judging starts 1 p.m. in the Patterson Co. Livestock Arena.

• Gene Watson is set to perform 3:30 p.m. on the Wish Farms Soundstage.

• The CF Industries Youth Swine Sale starts 7 p.m. in the Patterson Co. Livestock Arena.

• The Karaoke Contest is set to begin 7 p.m. in the Sweetbay Supermarket Showcase Tent.

• Casting Crowns is set to perform on the Wish Farms Soundstage at 7:30 p.m.

• Moonlight Magic at the midway is from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
