Riverview Man Runs From Deputies in Middle of Arrest

A man from Riverview ran from deputies yesterday with a set of handcuffs dangling from his wrist.
When deputies arrived at a home at 13312 Evening Sunset Lane in Riverview on the morning of June 17, they were looking for James Beasley. They wanted to serve a warrant for violation of probation, grand theft of a firearm and burglary of a dwelling.
When Hillsborough County deputies knocked on the door around 1:30 a.m., the person who answered said Beasley, 19, wasn’t there, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. But, one deputy recognized Beasley as the man standing behind someone in the doorway.

Deputies began handcuffing Beasley when he hit a deputy with his arm, broke free and ran between some nearby houses with the deputy's handcuffs handing from his wrist, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to the media.
Detectives went looking for Beasley’s friends and family in hopes of finding him. They located him in Tampa around 7 p.m. Monday night.

He was arrested and charged with "Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Escape and Petit Theft in addition to Beasley's previous list of criminal charges,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
Beasley is currently in the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
