RIVERVIEW, FL — A Riverview High School student was arrested Wednesday and charged with bringing a gun to school, authorities say. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office made the arrest after searching the student's car.

Keshaad Simpson, 18, is accused of bragging to other students about having a weapon in his car, the sheriff's office said in a release. The school resource officer was notified, and searched the car with administrators.

They found an unloaded .22 caliber pistol behind the driver's seat of the car. They didn't find any ammunition, the release says.
