Sheriff Cal Henderson's Life/Legacy To Be Honored In Riverview
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will pay respect Wednesday to the department's 28th sheriff who died earlier in July.

RIVERVIEW, FL — The life of retired Hillsborough County Sheriff Cal Henderson will be honored in Riverview Wednesday morning, according to a news release.
The funeral will be at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road, Riverview. Family members, friends and law enforcement members, including Sheriff Chad Chronister, will be in attendance. The public is invited to celebrate his life starting at 11 a.m.
Henderson died July 16 at 77-years-old. He served as the 28th sheriff of Hillsborough County from 1992 to 2004. He initially became a patrol deputy with the sheriff's office in 1969 after serving with the Central Intelligence Agency in 1967.

Morning drivers who take Lithia Pinecrest Road from Bryant Road to Bloomingdale Avenue can expect delays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. due to the funeral procession. Delays can also be expected on Bloomingdale Avenue westbound toward Watson Road. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route or give yourselves extra time if you want to show respect by pulling over as the funeral procession passes by.
