Suspect Accused Of Killing Man, Injuring Woman: Deputies

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who has hid from authorities since April following a fatal Riverview shooting.

BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — A suspect who is accused of killing a man and critically injuring a woman April 2 faces first degree felony murder and other charges, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

James Scott, 27, shot the male victim at Windermere Apartments, 9474 Windermere Lake Dr, Riverview, April 2 at about 11 p.m., investigators said. The male was pronounced dead at the shooting location. The female victim injured in the shooting was taken to a local hospital where they last listed her in stable but critical condition, according to detectives.

Scott was arrested Thursday, Aug. 27 on the following charges, according to the sheriff's office: first degree felony murder, attempted first degree felony murder, felon in possession of a firearm and burglary of an occupied dwelling with battery.

Law enforcement officials did not disclose where he was arrested.
