A Seffner man who left the location of a fatal crash he was involved in, surrendered himself to the Florida Highway Patrol Sunday afternoon.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash over the weekend in Hillsborough County has turned himself in, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Early Sunday morning, Miguel Matias Usher, 26, of Seffner, was driving his Toyota Tacoma on State Road-618 eastbound near milepost 111 at 4:56 a.m., Sunday. At the same time, a 36-year-old male from Citra also drove eastbound on SR-618. Usher eventually got behind the car and crashed into the back of the car, investigators said. This caused both vehicles to spin off to the outside shoulder.
Usher is accused of leaving his truck, and running away from the crash location. The male driver from Citra was pronounced dead shortly after the crash, troopers said.
