Suspect Gets Surprise Visit By Police As He Enjoys A Steak
A suspect used a moving company in Riverview he worked for to take advantage of homeowners, deputies said. He faces multiple charges.
BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — An employee with a local moving company who is accused of multiple burglaries got a surprise visit from deputies as he ate dinner at Long Horn Steak House in Brandon Monday night, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Renaldo Worthy, 40, is accused of using his job as a mover to easily go into a Riverview woman's home July 29. The day prior, Worthy unlocked the windows of the client's home before leaving, investigators said. He returned at 4 a.m. and went into the house by using the unlocked windows. Before he took thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, he locked the victim in the bathroom.
Detectives issued an arrest warrant for Worthy, and the night they arrested him on multiple charges, he had the stolen jewelry and credit cards from the victim with him. More evidence of stolen items from vehicle burglaries in the New Tampa area were found inside his vehicle, police said.
