Teacher Faces Sexual Activity With Minor Charges: Sheriff
A Bloomingdale High School teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student he taught in his Spanish class.

BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — A Bloomingdale High School teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student that lasted for more than a year.
Forty-six-year-old Alberto Rivera Claudio had sex with a female student multiple times between November 2019 to December 2020, detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect was the student's Spanish teacher at one point during the relationship.
Rivera was arrested Friday on multiple charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, deputies said.

"Educators have the responsibility to teach their students right from wrong, but this suspect didn't seem to understand the difference himself," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "As parents, we place trust in teachers to not only educate our children with the skills and knowledge they'll need in the future but also to be good role models for them. This suspect will face the consequences for his wrongful actions."
