A brush fire that began around noon today in south Hillsborough County is now under control, according to officials at Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
The fire was reported to the emergency dispatch center in the area of Rhodine Road and Rising Oak Trail in Riverview, officials said.
The fire affected about 35 acres, and crews battled the blaze for over five hours, officials said. A horse rescue property was protected by fire rescue during the incident, officials said.
