The famous high-wire act will be the main attraction during the fundraiser for Deputy Larry Morrell.

VALRICO, FL – Over the past 22 years, Deputy Larry Morrell of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has helped the community as part of the department’s DUI enforcement efforts. Now the community has a chance to return the favor when Morrell and his family need it the most.

On Oct. 5, two months before his retirement, Morrell was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. To help with the family’s medical expenses, the community has come together to host the Deputy Morrell 10-24 Carnival Fundraiser.

The carnival, which will take place at 3949 Lithia Pinecrest Road next to Foundation Christian Academy, runs from Thursday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 4 at the following times:

The Morrell family will use the funds raised by the carnival to defray the costs of medications, treatments, days off without pay or a possible leave for Larry’s wife, Debbie, and the many other unexpected expenses that may come up. For example, Debbie Morrell, who was laid up with a severe back injury on the day Larry was diagnosed, incurred a $1,000 charge for an epidural shot so she can physically help with Larry’s care.
