Women's Retreat Planned; Donations Needed

The Sept. 13-15 retreat is for women who have adopted or fostered a child or are considering adoption.

Loving God's Children, an adoption and orphan care ministry based in Valrico, will host a Women's Retreat Sept. 13-15 Little Harbor Resort in Ruskin. 

The weekend is for women who have adopted or fostered a child or are considering adoption or fostering. It will include break-out sessions, fellowship and worship.

The cost of the retreat is $150 and those planning to stay overnight will pay $75 a night for a standard room and $92 for a junior queen suite with two queen beds and a kitchen.  

Registration includes meals beginning with Friday dinner and including Sunday breakfast, snacks, sodas, retreat materials and goodie bags.

Registrations are due by July 31. 

The nonprofit Loving God's Children also is seeking donations for the retreat including:
  • water bottles
  • individually wrapped candy (M&Ms, chocolate bars, etc)
  • granola bars
  • individual tissue packets
  • money for goodie bag gifts
  • individually wrapped snacks
  • individual notepads
Loving God's Children is dedicated to providing information and resources to families considering adoption, both domestic and international, and foster care.

The nonprofit also provides fellowship and support by bringing together adoptive and foster care families who are going through or have been through the process and it offers outreach programs to meet the needs of orphan care centers around the world.

Upcoming activities include a Ladies' Night Out July 21 at 7 p.m. at Mimi's Cafe in Brandon and an orphan care presentation Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. at Church at the Mall in Lakeland.
