Bicyclist Killed In U.S. 41 Crash In Manatee County: FL Highway Patrol
A bicyclist was hit by an SUV that turned into his path on U.S. 41 in Manatee County, Florida Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A bicyclist was killed in a Thursday evening crash on U.S. 41 in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
A 56-year-old Bradenton man, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was riding his bike north in the left southbound lane, approaching the intersection of Main Drive, around 6:20 p.m.
An SUV stopped facing west on Main Drive for a stop sign at the intersection before turning left onto U.S. 41, hitting the bicyclist, FHP said.

He was critically injured in the crash and brought to an area hospital, where he later died.
The SUV’s driver, a 31-year-old Bradenton woman, was uninjured in the crash, which is under investigation.
