Man Shot To Death After Answering Door At Bradenton Home: Manatee Sheriff
A Citrus County woman fatally shot a Bradenton man after he answered his door, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
BRADENTON, FL — A Citrus County woman was charged with murder in the Wednesday afternoon fatal shooting of a Bradenton man, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Susan Avalon, 51, initially a person of interest, was arrested at her home Wednesday night.
The name of the victim, a 54-year-old man, hasn’t been released under Marcy’s Law. He died from his injuries at a local hospital hours after the shooting, deputies said.

When deputies responded to a home in the 7000 block of Chatum Light Run just before 3 p.m., they found the victim with two gunshot wounds.
The victim told investigators that someone came to his home and shot him as he answered the door.
Detectives believe it was a targeted shooting, the sheriff’s office said.
