Bradenton Toddler Tumbles Out of 2nd-Story Window

A 2-year-old boy was being checked out by doctors after falling 15 feet from a window Tuesday afternoon.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton 2-year-old was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after taking a tumble out of a second-story window.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded around 1:19 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Royal Palm Terrace Apartments on 26th Street East. The boy’s mother was cleaning her second-floor apartment with the windows open at the time, an email from the agency said.

The woman’s two sons, ages 2 and 4, were home at the time the mother was cleaning. “The mother heard the brother of the victim say something about not going out the window to the victim,” the email said. “The mother ran to the window, but the victim wasn’t there.”

Deputies say the mother then rushed downstairs and outside, finding her son on the ground. The boy, deputies said, was responsive and appeared to be in okay condition. Even so, he was taken to a local hospital to be checked out by doctors, the email added.

The distance of the fall is estimated at 15 feet.
