Dog Adoption Fees Waived During October In Manatee County
To honor Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, Manatee County Animal Welfare is waiving all dog adoption fees in October.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, Manatee County Animal Welfare is waiving adoption fees for all dogs through October.
There were 98 adoptable dogs at the Palmetto Adoption Center and 45 at the Bishop Animal Shelter, as of Sunday afternoon, according to a county news release.
Some of these dogs will have an opportunity to shine since MCAW is one of 39 animal shelters across the country that will be participating in National Playgroup Rockstars on Saturday. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Palmetto location, 305 25th Street West.

Based on the philosophy of “Every Dog, Every Day, Let Them Play," this one-of-a-kind adoption event by Dogs Playing for Life is designed to find loving homes for amazing dogs while promoting the importance of playgroups.
“For people who already have dogs, the Playgroup Rockstars Adoption Event allows them to see these dogs in action and find that perfect match for their existing pets,” the county said. “For those considering adopting two dogs, the teams on the ground can help find the perfect pair.”
