Family Rescued After Tree Crashes Through Bradenton Home: Watch

BRADENTON, FL — Officers rescued a family after a large tree crashed into their home — with children and pets inside — during Hurricane Milton, Bradenton police wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch bodycam footage of the rescue below.)

The family called 911, but first responders couldn’t immediately be dispatched to help them because of high winds.

As soon as vehicles could get on the roads, SWAT and Crime Reduction Team officers responded to the home, police said.

In the video, officers can be seen using a crowbar to open the front door.

Officers helped the family safely evacuate to a nearby shelter.
