Manatee County Bus Fees Waived on Election Days

Riders can use MCAT, paratransit buses for free on March 15, Aug. 30 and Nov. 8 this year.

Manatee County has made it easier for its residents to get to the polls this year and help them exercise their right to vote.

During its March 8 meeting, Manatee County commissioners voted unanimously to waive MCAT fares during the three main election days in 2016:

  • March 15: Presidential Preference Primary
  • Aug. 30: Primary Election
  • Nov. 8: General Election

Passengers for all regular MCAT services will be given free access to MCAT busses on these election days. However, MCAT services will not deviate from their regular routes on these days, so riders must have transportation to a scheduled stop.

Paratransit riders are asked to call (941) 748-2317 in advance to schedule a ride to their polling place.
