Manatee Non-Profit Launches 7 New Summer Camp Programs
The effort is part of a new program to teach innovation and creativity to Manasota children.

BRADENTON, FL – With summer quickly approaching, a Manatee County non-profit organization is launching a new way for Manasota children to keep learning while they’re out of school.
Take Stock in Children-Manatee announced its launching Creativity Camps, LLC, which will provide high-impact learning experiences. The new business unit, which was formed this week, will begin offering a selected group of camp programs this summer for children in grades 4-12.
Creativity Camps, which is solely owned by Take Stock, is designed as a for-profit organization whose revenues from the camps will be used to further fund the non-profit scholarship and mentoring activities of Take Stock.

“Creativity Camps extends our mission of helping prepare students for later life success by developing beliefs of courage, self-confidence, tenacity and creativity,” said Michael Corley, the board chairman of Take Stock.
Creativity Camps will launch several week-long camp experiences for elementary, middle and high school students this June and July. The camps will focus on science, art and technology themes. The camps will be taught by successful teachers from the School District of Manatee County.

The camp’s curriculum includes CSI-Forensics, robotics, graphic novel creation, clay studio visual arts design, songwriter workshop, superhero training, mad scientist laboratory and a technology playground facilitated by Teacher of the Year, Nick Leduc.
“We are using content developed at such institutions as Rice University and the Stanford Design School to create a powerful, engaging, hands-on and fun learning experience,” said Diana Dill, Creativity Camps executive director. “Our programs will let students get their hands dirty, and we are also planning field trips to extend their learning into real world situations.”
Take Stock in Children was established in 1995 as a non-profit organization in Florida that provides an opportunity for deserving low-income students to break the cycle of poverty through education.
