The Bradenton Police Department has full- and part-time positions open.

BRADENTON, FL — Bradenton area residents who want to launch careers in law enforcement while remaining civilians might find a few openings at the police department of interest. The agency has put a call out for dispatchers willing to work in part- or full-time positions.

Dispatchers are tasked with a number of duties, including monitoring officers and other designated personnel in the field. They also operate the 911 system and are responsible for dispatching first responders to calls.

The Bradenton Police Department pays starting, full-time dispatchers $14.05 an hour. That pay rises to $14.68 an hour after state certification, the city’s website states. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens or green card holders. They must also have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to operate a personal computer. On-the-job training is provided. Bilingual skills are not required, but are strongly desired.
