1 Dead, 1 Charged in Overnight Stabbing

Cesar Rodriguez of Seffner has been charged with second-degree murder after an argument in his kitchen led to the fatal stabbing outside his home, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

A Seffner man has been charged with second-degree murder after an overnight stabbing outside his home.

Words were exchanged that apparently were not to the liking of Cesar A. Rodriguez, 59, who followed the 34-year-old victim outside his home with a 5-inch kitchen knife in hand, according to the Hillborough County Sheriff’s Office report.

The male victim, who has not yet been identified, pending notification of next of kin, reportedly was stabbed with that knife, on the left side of the shoulder- and-neck area.

The fatal stabbing reportedly occurred July 10 at around 9:21 p.m., at 9102 Williams Road.

The victim then “staggered to a nearby residence, where he collapsed in the front yard,” according to the report.

He died after being transported to University Community Hospital.

Rodriguez was arrested at his home and charged with second-degree murder.
