• Spirit of giving helps ECHO face growing need in tough times (observernews.net) — ECHO’s Brandon resource center on Parsons Avenue is seeing surging demand for food, clothing, and job-help services as SNAP disruptions and rising costs squeeze local families. Serving 17 ZIP codes in south and east Hillsborough, including Brandon, the nonprofit reports record numbers this fiscal year and is urgently asking residents for ongoing donations of food, clothing, toiletries, and financial support.
   

• A.C.T. and Firehouse Cultural Center bring theater magic to kids (observernews.net) — Students at Brandon Montessori recently enjoyed live performances of The Snow Queen thanks to a long-running partnership between the Firehouse Cultural Center and Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth. About 450 K-5 students across Brandon, Riverview, and SouthShore Montessori schools experienced interactive, screen-free theater, with actors playing multiple roles and engaging kids through questions and audience participation.
   

• Proposal would bring stadium, sports complex to Clearwater (tbnweekly.com) — A massive new sports complex is being proposed for Clearwater, and its scale is being compared directly to the Tampa Bay Sportsplex in Brandon that many locals already know. Developers say the privately financed project could replace The Landings golf course with fields, courts, a water park, and a stadium, but Clearwater officials say the unsolicited proposal is still incomplete and under review.
