Man Killed When He Pulls In Front Of Tractor-Trailer On U.S. 301: Police
A man died after turning his car in front of an oncoming semi at the U.S. 301 and Selmon Expressway intersection Tuesday morning.
BRANDON, FL — A 47-year-old Massachusetts man died Tuesday morning when he turned in front of a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 301, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The 47-year-old turned left from southbound U.S. 301 at the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway intersection at the same time a tractor-trailer driven by a 60-year-old man from Washington headed northbound on U.S. 301. His car turned in front of the tractor-trailer at 8:55 a.m. under the flashing yellow signal at the intersection, authorities said. The tractor-trailer crashed into the passenger side of the car.
A coroner pronounced the Massachusetts man dead at the crash location. No injuries were reported by the truck driver, according to the police report.
