2 Injured In Plant City Shooting

Two people were injured after shots were fired during a Wednesday evening robbery in Plant City.

PLANT CITY, FL — The Plant City Police Department is investigating a Wednesday evening robbery that took a violent turn, resulting in two people being hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

According to the agency, police received a 911 call from a home in the 300 block of Tennessee Street around 6 p.m. Feb. 8. When officers arrived, they found a male and female victim both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Details related to the shooting remain sparse, but police say the two victims reportedly pulled up to the home at the same time a suspect vehicle arrived.

“The suspects exited their vehicle and forced the victims into the residence at gunpoint where an attempted robbery was to take place,” an email from the police department said.

Police say the victims struggled with their attackers and tried to flee the home. Both, however, were shot. The suspects left the scene in a white vehicle.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims or their ages. They said both were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Their conditions have not been released either.

It is unclear how many people were involved. Descriptions of the suspects are not yet available.
